You can delete or archive product records.
Archiving a product record will cause the product not to appear in the search results (unless you select a view including archived products) and you can no longer sell the archived item in a transaction.
Are you getting an error when you try to delete a product?
You cannot delete a product once you: 1) use the product in a transaction, or 2) add stock to the product record.
Why? Because once you do this, the activity is captured in our sales and inventory reports. Deleting the product would impact these reports.
In these situations, you can archive the product. This will cause the product not to appear in the search results (unless you select a view including archived products) and you can no longer sell the archived item in a transaction.
There are two ways to delete products.
1. After opening the item that you want to delete, select
"More Options" >> "Delete Product" from the right corner buttons and confirm it.
2. The second method is preferable to use, If you want to delete bunch of products simultaneously. Select the items that you want to delete and from "Actions" drop down list please select "Delete".
Once you’ve clicked "Submit" button a popup box will appear asking you what to do with "Linked Magento SKU" and confirm your decision to delete the item.
How to Make an Item Active or Inactive
After opening the item navigate to "Settings" from left side menu check box "Product Enabled (Active)" (this is default mode), uncheck if you want the item become inactive.
Once you uncheck the option, the given item will become inactive and not visible in the product list. Don't forget to Save changes.
Setting up a field to display Inactive items
Follow the steps to finding inactive Items in MicroBiz
"Catalog" >> "Manage Products"
- From "More Options" choose "Manage Grid"
- Check "Status" field and click "Apply"
- Change the "Status" field filter to show "Inactive" items
- Click anywhere on the grid to refresh
